We are pleased to announce the release today of the new single “Beautiful Foundations” by New York State rapper and producer duo Tone Chop and Frost Gamble.

Featuring fellow Binghamton native Will K, this is the single edition of the title track from the forthcoming album which releases on May 15th 2026, and the first to be taken from it with more to follow in the months ahead.

The album “Beautiful Foundations” itself took several years in the making, masterfully crafted as a celebration of the pair’s friendship and working relationship spreading back over 30 years.

From the early days of recording demos in their Binghamton basement to becoming one of the most prolific partnerships in recent years with a quite phenomenal back catalogue of singles and EP’s in their armoury, the landmark release documents their journey and pays homage to the close bond built between the pair.

Immersed in hip hop culture from their teenage years, the album reflects their dedication to the true essence while embracing evolution.  Chop’s trademark hard bars, a legacy of his rap battle days, and Frost’s dynamic range of beats are bolstered throughout by a generous helping of turntablism courtesy of DJ Eclipse, Pa Pa Fresh and  DJ J Smooth.  Space is reserved for friends and allies by way of the special guest featured artists including The Bad Seed, Pf Cuttin, Decon Blu, Grea8gawd and Fresh I.E.

In this first offering, Chop sets the agenda reflecting on those first times working together as young and passionate kids still learning the ropes, sowing seeds for the future set to a potent soundtrack marinated with soul. It’s something you live…

We are very proud to announce the release today of the fantastic new album “Cautionary Tales” by award winning New York State rapper Anthony Kannon and producer Frost Gamble, originally of Binghamton NY and now resident in Winnipeg, Canada.

We first heard the album around a year ago, and after much prepatory work and a summer of several single releases, it’s our great pleasure to finally provide the opportunity for you to hear it in full for the first time.

Authentically powerful, the young Ithacan lyricist draws on what has been quite a backstory filled with real life battles and challenging circumstances to convey a wide range of subject matter represented throughout the aptly titled release.

Having survived the trauma of being shot by armed intruders to the family home, it is a remarkable journey encapsulated in a series of biographical depictions, all with an underlying theme of survival, escape, progression and transformation.

This is Storyville of a life less ordinary deserving to be heard, handled with impressive maturity through a narrative packed full of dope rhymes and skillful wordplay. All set to the highest caliber soundtrack provided by Frost, himself a Juno Awards nominee for his production on Fresh IE’s “Ill Street Blues” in 2020.

There will be two opportunties to see the album showcased live at the special launch events.

First up is next week on Thursday October 26th at The Osborne Taphouse in Winnipeg, then next month on Saturday November 18th at Deep Dive in Ithaca when Anthony will be performing with a live band and will also be joined by special guest, Brooklyn’s Justo the MC who features on the album alongside Frost’s long time sparring partner Tone Chop.

Recipient of the title “Best Rapper” at the Ithaca Music Awards in 2019, Anthony Kannon has joined forces with veteran hip hop producer Frost Gamble, originally of Binghamton NY and now resident in Winnipeg, to release their new album Cautionary Tales through ourselves on October 20th 2023

Authentically powerful, the themes are a compelling narrative of a life less ordinary packed full of dope rhymes and skillfull wordplay set to the highest caliber soundtrack.

To mark such a special occasion, the pair have announced two launch events due to take place in their current home towns.

WINNIPEG – OSBORNE TAPHOUSE – OCTOBER 26th

The first takes place on Thursday October 26th at The Osborne Taphouse, 112 Osborne Street Winnipeg where they will be joined by guests Kairo & Hoopaloop, Dag & Tek Pro, Serge Paul and DJ Benz.

The second event takes place on Saturday November 18th at Deep Dive, 415 Old Taughannock Blvd Ithaca when Anthony will be performing the entire album with a live band which includes his father on bass!

They will be joined by Frost performing a DJ set, Mr McBean and Brooklyn’s Justo the MC who features on the album track “Take It Easy”.  He will also be performing selected tracks from his upcoming album “Urban Testimony” produced by Brelstaff, another which coincidentally will be releasing through New Dawn Records on November 3rd.

New Dawn Records are pleased to announce the release of the new single “Make It Rain” today by award winning rapper Anthony Kannon from Ithaca NY State, and producer Frost Gamble.

This is the second taken from the album “Cautionary Tales” out on October 20th, and follows on from last month’s “Pitfalls” which among other things was featured by Chuck D on his Rapstation radio show.

The pair are currently working on arranging two album launch events to take place in Canada and upstate New York from late October into early November, and we will have further news on that shortly.
