Just to round off the old year, we put together a special mix with some of the singles we’ve released from 2002 to 2022 by artists from the US & UK, all reppin’ the origins of dope rhymes, bangin’ beats & sick turntablism.

New Dawn Records are delighted to announce the release of the fantastic new album “Dopeliss” by Brick City rapper & producer Az Izz, formerly of the legendary New Jersey group The Outsidaz.

Together with Pace Won, Young Zee, Rah Digga and D.U., the Brick City crew were noted for their work with The Fugees, Wu Tang and a new emerging force from Detroit, D12. More recently pursuing a career in tv, film and sports music production, Az has returned to the hip hop fold with his first major solo album in several years.

Largely self produced with additional contributions by Qua Z Mo, DJ 3rdRell and DJ Profluent, the guest featured artists include several of his fellow former group members and further luminaries from the local independent scene including Drift, Rube the Difference and Jaja Kenyatta.

From boom bap to hard driving electronic beats, the production maps the evolution of the east coast sound underpinned lyrically by the traditional art of storytelling, street life, aspirations and struggles. Back in the game with another flag planted for the Garden State, it’s a diverse and engaging release for hip hop heads across the board.

New Dawn Records are proud to present the new official music video “Real Rap” by Brick City rapper Tru Trilla.

Filmed in Newark, New Jersey towards the end of 2019, the track taken from the album “God of Barz” was produced by Barcelona’s Sumerio Square and features fellow 050 Boyz group member Prince Ak.

Released on Youtube for the first time today

The album dropped on May 29th 2020 and has further production by Chicago’s DNA Beatz, the UK’s Chat One and award winning Clinton Place, aka Jamal Nueve originally of NJ and now resident in LA.

New Jersey natives Middy Murdock, Fly Kwa and Middy Murdock are the additional guest featured artists.

Previous singles have received extensive online media coverage and worldwide radio airplay including Chuck D’s Rapstation and both DJ Eclipse and DJ Premier on Shade 45, not to mention many more spread throughout Europe, the UK, USA and Canada.

We truly appreciate everyone’s support, especially given these testing times experienced by all.

New Dawn Records are very pleased to announce the release of the new AA side single “Ghetto” b/w “Crazy” by Brick City rapper and producer Az Izz, formerly of the legendary New Jersey group The Outsidaz.

Following “Gettin’ It” and “Nunya” released in April and May respectively, this is the third to be taken from the new album “Dopeliss” out on July 3rd which fuses the sound of hip hop through the eras.

From the classic hard edged soul infused sound of the east coast as represented here in “Ghetto” to the high octane electronica of “Nunya” and contemporary flavours of joints such as “Crazy” and “Gunz n Dice Games”, it’s a skillful blend marking the journey which both the genre and Az has travelled over the past couple of decades.

New Dawn Records are proud to announce the release of two upcoming projects by Brick City’s lyrical marksman Tru Trilla in 2020.

“The Seymour Chronicles EP” out on March 17th is the precursor for his incredible new album “God of Barz” which drops May 29th.

Our in house promotional division UrbanElite PR worked with Tru previously in 2015 when as part of 050 Boyz they released the classic album “Everything 050” resulting in worldwide media coverage and live appearances on Sirius XM as guests of DJ Eclipse and DJ Premier.

The crew’s Prince Ak and RIQ together with regular affiliate Fly Kwa make guest appearances on the new EP which as you’d expect is packed with fierce rhymes, hooklines and hard bars with all delivering high on the verbal ballistics scale. Entirely produced by another New Jersey native Joey Loax, it represents the classic sound of the east coast and serves a tasty appetizer for the main course in May.

As a label, we relish the prospect of working with an artist of Tru’s caliber and style which represents perfectly our direction of travel as we enter an exciting new phase since re-launching last year.

Look out for the singles “Warzone” and “20 to Life” releasing in February. In the meantime, here’s the video teaser for the EP. This is the real deal, for the hip hop heads and connoisseurs – 050 Dat !
